Restaurant Concept
Designed around the idea of quiet luxury, this concept combines natural materials, restrained detailing and carefully layered lighting to create an atmosphere that feels both contemporary and timeless. Limewashed plaster, travertine, dark oak, bronze and Verde marble work together to deliver warmth and sophistication, while an open kitchen and thoughtfully planned dining spaces encourage connection, comfort and memorable experiences. The architecture is intentionally understated, allowing materiality, proportion and light to define the character of the space.
Project Brief
The brief was to create a contemporary restaurant that feels refined and luxurious without becoming intimidating. The client wanted a space that would encourage guests to slow down, enjoy the experience, and connect with the atmosphere as much as the food. Natural materials, warm lighting and a timeless palette formed the foundation of the design, with flexibility for both intimate dining and larger social occasions.
Design Response
My response was to create a calm, layered interior inspired by natural materials and understated luxury. Limewashed plaster, honed travertine, dark oak, bronze detailing and Verde marble establish a warm, tactile palette, while carefully considered lighting creates depth and atmosphere throughout the day. Open views into the kitchen introduce theatre and authenticity, balanced by soft planting, generous seating and intimate dining zones. The result is a contemporary restaurant that feels elegant, welcoming and enduring—an environment where the architecture quietly enhances the overall dining experience.
