We begin by understanding your goals for the project, alongside budget, timescales and overall feasibility. This early stage helps establish a clear direction and ensures the project is set on the right foundation from the outset.
Working closely with you, we develop the project brief and define the key requirements, aspirations and priorities. This stage gives everyone a clear understanding of the scope, budget and intended programme before design work begins. At this stage we typically instruct a full measured survey to create accurate ‘as existing’ drawings from which we start the scheme.
Using the agreed brief, we develop initial design ideas that respond to the site, your requirements and the wider project objectives. We review options with you, refine the preferred direction and consider factors such as planning, sustainability and budget.
The chosen concept is developed into coordinated plans and drawings, with key technical and structural input integrated into the design. This stage also includes preparing and submitting planning applications where required. This is also typically where we would integrate a landscaping plan If required, along with suggestions for lighting.
Once the design is approved, we prepare the detailed technical information needed for construction. This includes construction / building regs drawings, mechanical and electrical designs, material specifications and Building Regulations coordination to ensure the project is ready to build.
During the build, we work alongside the contractor to help ensure the project is delivered in line with the design intent. We remain involved throughout construction, responding to queries and reviewing progress on site.
As the project reaches completion, we review the final build with you and the contractor to ensure everything has been delivered as intended. Any final adjustments are addressed before handover, so the completed project is ready to enjoy.
